Diminutivo e aumentativo em inglês...Existe ?

Não !! Nao tem como formar diminutivo ou aumentativo em inglês utilizando o sufixo. Entao não podemos usar o INHO ou ÃO nas palavras. Neste caso precisamos usar adjetivos para expressar essa idéia.

ENORMOUS FLAT

Mas existem poucas palavras raras até, que já vem com esse sentido de DIMINUTIVO.

CIGARETTE

DISKETTE

ETTE vem do francês e indica diminutivo.

Examples: Que frio ! (It's really cold)

Uau ! que carrão ! (Damn ! What a gorgeous car !)

Aquele garotinho é muito fraco (That poor little boy is weak)

Lindinha ! Eu quero falar com você (Sweetie I want to talk to you)

How can we understand the difference between "Few Things and Little Things" ??

EXAMPLES:

They have few things to do tomorrow.

(Eles tem poucas coisas pra fazer amanha)

They have little things to do tomorrow.

(Eles tem umas coisinhas pra fazer amanha)

FEW: Substantivos contáveis, quantidade.

LITTLE: Substantivos contáveis, tamanho.

How can we say "Eu nem quero imaginar" in english ??

Examples: Eu nem quero imaginar o que sua mae vai fazer com voce quando descobrir que voce bebeu ontem.(I dread to think what your mother is gonna do with you when she discover you drank yesterday)

Nem quero imaginar o que teria acontecido se nao tivemos feito aquele teste.(I dread to think what would have happened if we haven't done that test)

This expression is usually used for unpleasant situations.

Giving information and helping people makes part of my job. Being an english teacher is a gift to me. I just love what I do but I believe that's also part of my job helping who needs it (if you're not my student). So how can I spread the world my knowledge ? Through this blog I'm gonna make videos very similar to my classes and also make some podcasts with english expressions, slangs and grammar. As the videos will be similar to my classes, everything is gonna be in english but if you're not good at it yet, don't worry.
